Natalia Calzada, MD
Dr. Natalia Calzada joins Piedmont OB-GYN as an obstetrician-gynecologist committed to compassionate, evidence-based, and culturally responsive care for women at every stage of life. She believes in building lifelong relationships with her patients and creating a care experience grounded in trust, respect, and partnership.
A proud Atlanta-trained physician, Dr. Calzada was named a Woodruff Scholar at Emory University School of Medicine, where she also completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, graduating summa cum laude.
Health equity, advocacy, and community service are central to Dr. Calzada's approach to medicine. She completed Emory's Health Equity, Advocacy, and Policy track and has distinguished herself as a teacher, mentor, and teammate. Her dedication to her colleagues and to creating a culture of kindness and collaboration earned her Emory's Silver Apple Award in 2024, Golden Apple Award in 2025, and Esprit de Corps Award in 2026.
Dr. Calzada's clinical philosophy is centered on respect, clarity, compassion, and individualized care. Fluent in English and Spanish and a certified medical interpreter, she is especially passionate about ensuring that every patient feels heard, understood, and empowered to participate fully in decisions about her health. Outside of medicine, Dr. Calzada enjoys long walks through Grant Park with her dog, Bernie; practicing yoga; embroidery and cross-stitch; reading fiction; discovering new restaurants; traveling; and dancing.
